The Power of a Full Moon

The Power of a Full Moon

During a full moon, the moon is reflecting an intense amount of solar energy which can make it both a very powerful time and a very challenging time. Essentially the Sun’s energy, reflected by the moon, illuminates all our hidden subconscious qualities. Think of it like someone shining a torch onto your shadow self.

When it unearths hidden emotions that we are not ready for - our emotions become heightened and we tend to feel uncomfortable and often very raw as our emotional self can become quite visible to those around us.

It is usually the time we might find ourselves yelling at the universe or when really bad – then at others around us.

To help prevent feeling out of control then this is the time you really need to be grounded.

However, when we work with the full moon energy and use it to accept ourselves with no exceptions then we begin to awaken and grow spiritually. Our true selves are illuminated in the full moon light and we can use that intense energy to expand our connection with spirit, to open and expand our consciousness.

It is the perfect time for sacred ritual, to celebrate our connection to earth and spirit, to channel and release both wisdom and love and to celebrate who you are. Make use of the full moon’s intense energy and send it out into the universe for a positive cause.

If the New Moon is for planting and the Waxing Moon is for striving, the Full Moon is the grand finale. This is the "Harvest" phase—a time of high energy, peak intuition, and, quite frankly, a little bit of beautiful chaos.

In a women's circle, a Full Moon ritual is about celebration and illumination. The moon is fully lit by the sun, meaning there is nowhere left to hide. We see our successes, and we see what is no longer serving us with total clarity.

A Full Moon Ritual - The power of Illumination & Overflow.

The Full Moon corresponds with the "Mother" archetype—fullness, fruition, and the peak of the cycle.

  1. The Opening (The High Vibration)

Full Moon energy is "up." This isn't the time for hushed whispers; it’s the time for voice and presence.

  • The Shared Light: Place a large bowl of water in the center to catch the moonlight (or candlelight).
  • The Sound: Begin with voicing a "OM" or another sound you are drawn to. Feel the vibration in your chest.
  • The Invocation: "Under the light of this Grandmother Moon, we see ourselves fully. We celebrate what has bloomed, and we release what has withered."
  1. The Ritual: "The Great Release"

The Full Moon is the most powerful time for Letting Go. Because the "cup" is full, we must pour some out to make room for the next cycle.

  • The Shadow Work: Grab a piece of paper, and write down one thing that has became "visible" in the last two weeks that they are ready to let go of (e.g., a resentment, a limiting belief, or a finished project).
  • The Fire/Water Element: Tear up the paper into tiny shreds and drop it into a "dissolving bowl" of water.
  • The Affirmation: Then say "It is seen. It is honored. It is released."
  1. The Celebration: "The Harvest Toast"

Shift the energy from releasing to receiving.

  • In Gratitude: Share with the moon one "win" from the past two weeks, no matter how small. Feel the gratitude for the journey.

Power of a Waxing Moon

Power of a Waxing Moon

The energy of a Waxing Moon is growth and expansion. As we watch it grow larger in the sky, the ideas and wisdom we birthed during a new moon are now gaining momentum.

As the energy of the Waxing Moon builds during this time, it absorbs energy inwards in order to gain strength to move forward. Now is the time to use this energy to work towards your dreams and to pour into what you love.

During a waxing moon, especially those of you with empath abilities, (those who feel the energy of others around them), should be careful of not absorbing too much energy into their Aura. Working on protecting your Aura is very important during a waxing moon.

If the New Moon was about the "Void," the Waxing Moon (the period between the New and Full Moon) is about momentum. As the sliver of light grows larger each night, the energy shifts from quiet dreaming to active building.

A Waxing Moon Ritual

This phase corresponds with the "Maiden" archetype and the energy of Spring. It is the "follicular phase" of the lunar cycle—where energy levels rise and we begin to see the first sprouts of the intentions we planted in the dark.

  1. The Opening (Raising Energy)

Unlike the New Moon’s hushed tones, the Waxing Moon benefits from a bit more "fire."

  • Sound & Movement: Begin with gentle sounds like a "hum", and then begin to move gently, feeling your connection to the moon and the earth.
  • The Invocation: "As the light grows in the sky, may the power grow within our intentions."
  1. The Ritual: "Feeding the Seed"

If the New Moon was planting the seed, the Waxing Moon is about watering it.

  • The Action: Place a large bowl of water in the center of the circle, and add to it some dried herbs (like rosemary for clarity or basil for prosperity) or add some favourite flower petals to inspire you.
  • The Declaration: Now open yourself up to the moon and tell her what action your taking toward you manifesting your new moon goal.
  • Share this statement to the moon: "I see my goal growing, and I ask the moon to help grow my goal with me."
  1. The "Block-Buster" Refinement

As we take action, we often hit our first obstacles. The First Quarter Moon (the midpoint of the waxing phase) is specifically for overcoming these hurdles.

  • The "Yes" List: Instead of focusing on what’s wrong, focus on what has gone right. Write down three things you have said "YES" to this month.
  • Gratitude: Send your gratitude to the moon for her beautiful energy and ask her for the strength to keep going forward.
Power of the New Moon

Power of the New Moon

A New Moon is the astronomical "reset button." Since the moon is positioned between the Earth and the Sun, its illuminated side faces away from us, leaving the sky dark. This phase is less about "doing" and more about planting seeds.

A New moon marks a time of new beginnings. It is a time to be honest with ourselves, to dive deep and tell our true dreams to the universe. It is a reflective time and when we honour this part of the moon cycle we are drawn deeply within which heightens our intuition and divination abilities.

From here we can explore our soul journey, open our hearts, be nurturing towards ourselves and access the very depths of who we are – giving us the potential for great healing.

It is the perfect time of the month for starting new careers, new business opportunities and making new friends.

A ritual you can do for the New Moon

In the darkness of the new moon, everything is possible because nothing has started yet. It is the fertile soil of the coming month.

1. The Opening (Grounding)

Start by acknowledging the darkness. Turn off bright overhead lights and use candles instead.

  • The Breath: Close your eyes and take three deep breaths. On the exhale, imagine shedding the "clutter" of the previous lunar cycle.

  • The Intention: Briefly state the purpose: "I am here to clear space for what I want to grow."

2. The Release (Clearing the Soil)

You can't plant new seeds in a garden full of weeds.

  • Reflective Prompt: Ask yourself, "What habit, belief, or 'weight' am I leaving in the dark of this moon?"

  • The Action: Write it on a small piece of paper. You can then safely burn these papers in a central bowl (if outdoors/ventilated) or simply fold them up and "bury" them in a bowl of salt or sand to symbolize returning them to the earth.

3. The Invitation (Planting the Seed)

Now that the space is clear, identify what you want to invite in.

  • The "I Am" Statement: Instead of saying "I want," encourage yourself to write your intention as if it is already happening (e.g., "I am grounded in my worth" or "I am open to new creative paths").

  • The Visual: Hold an object, eg. a crystal, a seed packet, or even a stone. Then "whisper" your intention into the object.

4. The Sharing (The Power of Witness)

Share your intention with the moon, and then simply say, "The seed is planted."

"And so it is."

Why Women’s Circles are important

Why Women’s Circles are important

In a world that often feels competitive or hyper-productive, these spaces provide a supportive environment where women can drop the mask, and know that they will be held, heard and acknowledged. It is a unique place where women can let go of what people expect you to be, and instead be who you uniquely are.

Here is why they are becoming increasingly vital today:

  • It is a place to feel safe, where you can speak your truth without judgement.
  • You can meet like minded souls and feel part of a community.
  • It moves you past the words "I'm fine" into sharing what is really going on.
  • It is the power of being witnessed - to experience the profound healing of being heard. As a circle always has a share component, ensures everyone has a dedicated time to speak without being interrupted.
  • Discovering that others in the circle share your struggles in their lives, giving women the wisdom that it is not just me.
  • The Group activities give you the opportunities to learn, to reflect, to ground and even feel joy and laughter.

I have been running circles for over 10 years, and there is always something magical when women gather.

Soon I will be anouncing my new women's circle that will bring women together where we can open up to the divine feminine, discover the divine feminine archetypes within us, and how we connect to nature, the moon and the seasonal cycles.

Rose Quartz – Journey of Unconditional Love

Rose Quartz – Journey of Unconditional Love

Rose Quartz is considered to be the stone of love, in all the forms of love but especially one of unconditional love. It is a stone that helps to give courage to heal emotional wounds, to gently dissolve the walls around our heart and to open us up to the many opportunities of love. Although there are many crystals out there that vibrationally tune into the heart, it is the Rose Quartz that does so in such a gentle way that we don't even notice that our love issues have slowly made their way to the surface and entered our awareness to be healed.

It is a kind and gentle enough for children of all ages, including teenagers where this stone is able to gently work to their Auras, even when they go through so many hormonal and transitional changes, it helps to bring their heart energy into balance. Yet despite its gentleness, Rose Quartz is actually quite powerful in helping us to see our selves with loving eyes. To show us where we are negative in lives and help to lift us from when we experience self-doubt. To help us to allow space in the heart to journey within and understand the true power of the love we are capable of.

This stone also helps us to:
• Quiet the emotions,
• Brings peace of mind,
• Dispel fear.
• Reduces stress and soothes the nerves.
• Helps to restore harmony after chaotic emotional experiences.
• May reduce aggression and resentment and help to bring forgiveness.
• Assists with the development of tolerance and to restore self-esteem.
• Excellent for children as its works very gently.
• Also excellent for elderly and those at the end of life as it helps to peacefully let go of attachments and enter the new realm at the end of their earthly existence.

This gem is associated with the Heart Chakra and can help us to establish emotional connection with others, develop trust, feel empathy, and allow us to experience love and self-love, especially when we think that we do not deserve to be loved.

Like other quartz varieties, rose quartz is characterized by high conductivity. This quality makes it a perfect and powerful healing stone, and excellent in Crystal Healing.

Its peaceful energy helps fortify and heal relationships and dispel negativity from areas where people interact. The gem is believed to clear electromagnetic radiation and should be placed near computers and TV sets. It must, however, be cleansed and recharged very often since it absorbs negativity.
