Today marks the acutal time of the Lammas harvest festival in the Southern Hemisphere. For those that follow the wheel of the year, Lammas marks the beginning of the Autumn season. In my landscape I have had the fortune of harvesting peaches, cucumber, potatos, beans and spring onions, however I have also lost many vegetables and plants to the hot summer sun. Today it is 38 degrees celsius so it feels very much like summer isn’t quite ready to let go yet.

As I am in Adelaide, South Australia, it is not uncommon to have the Summer heat to carry on through to the time of the Autumn Equinox, so how do we best embrace Autumn’s harvest energy at this time?

For me its tapping into how the energy of the harvest is reflected in our personal lives. Its a time to ponder how your life is going, and perhaps to ask yourself if you feel like you are travelling on the right path? and if not, then sit with your intuition and ask it to show you where to make changes in your life so that your future harvest is full of abundance. But perhaps most of all, it is benefical to establish a practice of being grateful for all the positive things in your life.

Many blessings to you all this Lammas
